About the Role
As a Data Science Intern at aivontis, you will be part of a team focused on building intelligent systems that solve real-world challenges in healthcare and life sciences. This internship offers hands-on experience in applied data science, including working with complex datasets and contributing to data-driven product features.
You will support model development, data exploration, and analytical workflows that power platforms such as Synapse and Circulus. The role is an opportunity to learn from experienced teams, collaborate across functions, and contribute meaningfully to projects built for scale and real impact
Key Responsibilities
- Support in cleaning, preprocessing, and exploring structured and unstructured healthcare datasets.
- Assist in developing and evaluating machine learning models.
- Work with engineering and product teams to ensure data integrity and usability.
- Visualize data insights and model performance for internal reviews and decision-making.
- Help document experiments, track results, and maintain reproducibility.
- Participate in research sprints and contribute to ideation and prototyping.
Qualifications and Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with SQL and experience working with structured datasets.
- Basic understanding of machine learning workflows and model evaluation techniques.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, self-driven work ethic.
- Bonus: Exposure to NLP, healthcare datasets, or experiment tracking tools (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases).
